P0503 Vehicle speed sensor A intermittent/erratic/high
What P0503 means
The engine control unit sees a vehicle speed signal that jumps around or cuts out. Erratic road speed information can confuse the transmission, speedometer and cruise control.
P0503 is a generic SAE J2012 code: it means the same on every make. The exact cause still depends on the car, so read the freeze-frame data before replacing parts.
