P0507 Idle control system RPM higher than expected
What P0507 means
The engine control unit is trying to bring idle speed down to its target but the engine keeps idling faster. Usually extra unmetered air is getting into the engine.
P0507 is a generic SAE J2012 code: it means the same on every make. The exact cause still depends on the car, so read the freeze-frame data before replacing parts.

You can keep driving, but have it checked within one to two weeks. Start by checking the intake hoses for leaks.
What to check first
- Listen for hissing and inspect vacuum and intake hoses for leaks
- Check the PCV valve and its hoses
- Clean the throttle body and perform an idle relearn
- Test the idle air control valve if fitted
