P0741 Torque converter clutch circuit performance/stuck off
What P0741 means
The transmission control unit commands the torque converter clutch to lock, but measured slip between engine and gearbox input stays too high. The converter is not locking, which wastes fuel and creates heat.
P0741 is a generic SAE J2012 code: it means the same on every make. The exact cause still depends on the car, so read the freeze-frame data before replacing parts.

Can I keep driving with P0741?
You can keep driving, but have it checked within one to two weeks. Avoid towing and heavy loads.
What to check first
- Check fluid level and condition
- Watch commanded and actual converter slip in live data
- Change the transmission fluid if it is old, then retest
- Replace the TCC solenoid or torque converter if the fault remains
