P2008 Intake manifold runner control circuit/open (bank 1)
What P2008 means
The engine control unit has found an open or faulty electrical circuit to the intake manifold runner control actuator or solenoid. The runner flaps cannot be operated, which can reduce power in part of the rev range.
P2008 is a generic SAE J2012 code: it means the same on every make. The exact cause still depends on the car, so read the freeze-frame data before replacing parts.

Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Reduced low or high rpm power
- Rough idle on some engines
Common causes
- Failed runner control actuator or solenoid
- Loose or corroded connector
- Broken wire in the control circuit
- Blown fuse
Can I keep driving with P2008?
You can keep driving, but have it checked within one to two weeks.
What to check first
- Inspect the actuator connector and wiring
- Check supply voltage and control signal at the actuator
- Measure actuator or solenoid resistance
- Repair wiring or replace the actuator
