P0107 Manifold absolute pressure / barometric pressure sensor circuit low
What P0107 means
The voltage from the MAP sensor is lower than the engine computer considers possible, as if there were almost no pressure in the intake. The computer ignores the sensor and uses a substitute value, so fuelling and timing are less precise.
P0107 is a generic SAE J2012 code: it means the same on every make. The exact cause still depends on the car, so read the freeze-frame data before replacing parts.

Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Hesitation or poor acceleration
- Rough idle
- Possible hard starting
Common causes
- Failed MAP sensor
- Open circuit in the 5 V reference wire to the sensor
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Unplugged or corroded connector
Can I keep driving with P0107?
You can drive, but have it checked within a week. The engine runs on a default load value and may feel sluggish or uneven.
What to check first
- Check that the MAP sensor connector is plugged in and free of corrosion.
- With the key on, measure the 5 V reference and ground at the connector.
- Check the signal wire for a short to ground with the sensor unplugged.
- If reference, ground and signal wiring are good, replace the MAP sensor.
